Fire safety

The code describes how fire risk assessments and premises fire evacuation plans should be organised and carried out in NCC buildings. It also describes how fire safety equipment and systems are maintained under the Total Facilities Management (TFM) contract and the organising role of the Corporate Property Team. It includes detail on the role of evacuation marshals in the three NCC hubs - County Hall, Havenbridge House and Priory House – that have been developed in response to reduced occupancy of buildings during COVID-19 and also because of increased smarter working.

Fire safety technical information for premises managers and fire risk assessors is now contained in a single revised and updated document.
