Information for supply teachers

This section provides advice and guidance to supply teachers registered with the EducationHR Norfolk Supply Register.
Being on the register enables our customers to book you directly via the Norfolk Supply Register at Teacher Booker digital system for short or long-term assignments. Once you are registered with us you will receive an invite to join the system and receive notifications, alerting you to available assignments. To maximise the amount of work that you are notified of please ensure your profile on the system is complete and kept up to date.
The Norfolk Supply Register supports all customer schools, for all their staffing needs should they have either a late notice requirement or a future planned absence that needs filling.
The demand for supply teachers can fluctuate throughout the year and most of the assignments are within primary schools. Once registered with us you can notify local schools of your availability to increase your chance of obtaining work.
The expectations of a supply teacher may vary from school to school and it is in your interest to clarify what individual schools expect from you, including the split between morning and afternoon hours, expectations in respect of lesson preparation, marking and the hours for which you will be paid.
The maximum a supply teacher can be paid for a day is 6.5 hours.
Rates of pay are established by the school you are undertaking the assignment with at the point of agreeing to the assignment. Rates of pay will be on the main pay range (MPR) in line with school teachers pay and conditions.
When starting an assignment in a school you will need to take along your ID and your EducationHR Supply registration certificate. NB. Your registration certificate is only valid as proof of registration and pre-employment check completion in EducationHR customer schools. If you are not sure if the school you are undertaking work in is an EducationHR customer school please contact us.
