Moving and handling
Moving and handling is any activity which involves pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting or moving. This is an important area in social care as there are a high number of reported of injuries as a result of accidents incurred when moving people. Injury is also incurred as a result of manual handling inanimate objects as a frequent part of work activity or when carrying out infrequent, less planned manual handling. The prevention of injuries caused through manual handling activities is a priority in Norfolk County Council. Further details can be found below.
